Bring warmth back to a fallen kingdom

A small light in a dark world.

The roads are cold. The lamps have gone dark. Behind his castle walls, the Cinder King keeps the warmth that once belonged to everyone.

You are a weathered lantern with a flame still burning. Your keeper left you one task: carry warmth to those without it. Follow the old roads through silent woods, frozen hollows and the keepers’ ruined refuge. Somewhere beyond them, the king is waiting.

Carry the light

Warmth is a small atmospheric platformer with exploration, environmental puzzles and boss encounters. Your light gives you strength, but flight spends the same warmth that keeps you alive. Find a moment to rest, watch the path ahead, and choose which flame to carry.

  • Four chapters: cross the woods, descend into the hollow, explore the ruins and enter the castle.
  • Three flame forms: steady Ember, airborne Zephyr and heavy Titan. Their gifts become available as your journey unfolds.
  • A path to uncover: find keys, move blocks, activate mechanisms and navigate dangerous platforms.
  • A story to follow: English narration, quiet moments between encounters, and a keeper’s promise carried through the cold.

Before you set out

Play in a desktop browser with a keyboard and mouse. Click inside the game to give it focus; fullscreen is recommended. You can change the key bindings and adjust music, sound effects and narration separately in Settings.

  • A / D — move
  • W — jump
  • Hold Left Shift — fly, when flight is available
  • Left mouse button — shoot
  • 1 / 2 / 3 — Ember / Zephyr / Titan, once unlocked
  • Esc or the pause button — pause and open the menu

Returning later? Resume continues your saved journey. Progress is stored locally in the browser you use; clearing its site data also removes that save. This version is designed for keyboard and mouse.

Behind the game

Warmth began as a university project created by Kai Miller and me. I later returned to the game and continued its development for this release.

Built in Unity and C#, it combines platforming, environmental puzzles and combat with three playable flame forms.

Technology: Unity · C# · WebGL
Context: University collaboration, followed by personal development

Unglaublich gelungenes Spiel! Erinnert an die alten Spieleaffe und Miniclip games die jeder von uns geliebt hat. Schön dass auch heute noch so viel Arbeit in solche Projekte gesteckt wird!
